Thanks for your interest in joining the fundraising team at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, a charity that has been supporting people and pets since 1883.
We give our all to keep pets with their families where they belong. When that’s not possible, we take them in and love them as if they’re our own. We give every dog and cat the best level of care we can, from food and veterinary care to toys and training – all to get them ready for their future family. We developed our new strategy, “Beyond our walls”, at the end of 2022, providing us with a clear sense of what we need to do to make lasting changes to the issues that our community and charity face, and become more than an animal shelter.
The fundraising team have recently gone through a period of change to allow us to focus our time, effort, and resources on our areas of growth and potential, so that we are able to continue to support our mission to find loving homes, keep pets in loving homes, and run our loving home for the people and pets of East and Central Scotland. Our team are caring, driven, and progressive – but we have fun along the way! You’ll see what they say about working here later in this pack.
Due to the wonderful internal promotion of our Individual Giving and Legacy Manager, this role has become vacant and I’m looking for a candidate experienced in managing teams, to grow our individual giving income through existing and new products. This is also an exciting time to take up this role as we have recently invested in our legacy work and are looking for a candidate to develop and drive our legacy giving programme.
We are also now ready to recruit for the role of Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, to develop and grow a pipeline of major donor and partnership opportunities that deliver income and impact for the Home. I’m looking for a fundraiser experienced in securing major gifts and developing partnerships that secure income and create lasting impact. An exceptional communicator and relationship builder with the ability to spot opportunities, identify prospects needs and motivations, and match these with strategic priorities. By joining the fundraising management team, you’ll be central to our success, both as a team and as a charity.
If either of these sound like you and you’d like to know more, please get in touch with the AWS team to arrange a chat.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Sarah Johnston
Director of Income and Engagement
At Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, we give our all to keep loving homes whole and keep pets where they belong – with their families. When that’s not possible, we take them in and love them as if they’re our own. We give every dog and cat the best level of care possible, from food and healthcare to toys and training – all to get them ready for their future family. With open doors and open minds, we aim to break down the stigma people can face when they hit hard times. Because we believe there’s goodness inside every pet and person.
“I love working for an organisation and team that is supportive and truly cares for their colleagues but is also always pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved for the people and animals that we support. It’s also a lovely bonus that there’s always an opportunity for a cuddle with our furry guests”! Lee-Ann, Database and Insights Officer
