AWS Executive are working in partnership with Space to appoint their Head of Service (Enterprise and Learning) based The Broomhouse Hub in Edinburgh. This is a part time role 21 hours per week, over 3 days.
Space @ The Broomhouse Hub is a Scottish Award-nominated charity championing community development and bringing people together.
Space see a future where communities thrive; where people belong and lead fulfilling lives. They join members and partners to address wellbeing and economic challenges through their services and social enterprises, and believe that connections build communities.
In 1991, a time of depression and recession, a sense of community activism was brewing. A refusal to accept that Broomhouse deserved anything less than other communities inspired a local resident’s campaign to turn a row of six shops into one community hub. And so, The Broomhouse Centre was born.
More than 30 years on, and still with local community groups and trustees at its core, Space has a new state of the art community building: The Broomhouse Hub.
Space has grown and now delivers 17 projects with the help of more than 70 staff and 250 volunteers. The charity provides diverse services supporting young people, families, older folks, and carers, amongst others, and has engaged with local residents more than 34,000 times in 2022.
To be a key member of Space Management Team, providing leadership and building positive working relationships across the organisation, and externally.
To develop and lead on Space Enterprise and Learning strategy, working collaboratively with the Board of Trustees and sub committees to deliver sound advice across all areas of responsibility, and contribute towards strategic decision making.
To oversee the day to day operations across front line projects, bringing stability and resilience, enabling any growth and improvement that may be required in order to deliver on our strategic objectives, now and in the future.
To drive income generation, building an understanding across the organisation of the need for successful commercial projects.
