As a Trustee of OneKind you will:

• Provide strategic leadership and governance to ensure OneKind delivers on its mission, remains financially sustainable and adheres to regulatory and legal requirements.
• Work alongside the Board and senior staff to set the organisation’s vision, values and strategic priorities.
• Act as an ambassador for the organisation, promoting its work, values and impact to external stakeholders.
• Oversee organisational performance, risk management, and ensure the charity’s resources are used effectively.
• Support the CEO and senior management team by offering insight, guidance and constructive challenge to maximise effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in all Board meetings and any relevant sub-committee meetings.
• Contribute to the development, monitoring and review of OneKind’s strategic plan, policies and major initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory and legal requirements (including the duties of charity trustees under Scots law).
• Oversee financial health: approve budgets, review financial reports, ensure proper financial controls and risk management are in place.
• Help ensure robust systems for monitoring and evaluating the charity’s impact, reporting to stakeholders and maintaining accountability.
• Represent OneKind externally as needed (e.g., at events, stakeholder meetings, with funders or partner organisations).
• Support fundraising, income generation and sustainability efforts – contribute to discussions on growth and diversification of income sources.
• Maximise the effectiveness of the Board by bringing personal skills, networks and experience to bear; support recruitment, induction and development of new board members.
